Internet Speed Test

Measure approximate download speed, upload speed, response time, and connection quality with a free internet speed test designed for practical troubleshooting.

The test transfers controlled data and times the requests to estimate throughput and responsiveness from your browser to the test endpoint. Pause downloads, VPN transfers, cloud backups, and streaming; use the same device and connection when comparing repeated results.

What does this test measure?

The test transfers controlled data and times the requests to estimate throughput and responsiveness from your browser to the test endpoint.

☆

Why is this test important?

Measure approximate download speed, upload speed, response time, and connection quality with a free internet speed test designed for practical troubleshooting.

▻

How do you run the test?

Pause downloads, VPN transfers, cloud backups, and streaming; use the same device and connection when comparing repeated results.

▥

How should results be interpreted?

Compare the result with your subscribed package while allowing for Wi-Fi, congestion, routing, device, server, and protocol overhead.

☑

Normal and problematic results

Compare the result with your subscribed package while allowing for Wi-Fi, congestion, routing, device, server, and protocol overhead.

△

Technical limitations

A single browser test cannot guarantee the maximum line rate or identify every provider, router, cable, or wireless fault.

↘

Why can the score decrease?

Unstable measurements, denied permissions, unsupported browser APIs, background load, power saving, or an incomplete test can affect the result. When a score changes, the result screen explains the reason.

⌕

What should you do if a problem is found?

Repeat over Ethernet and Wi-Fi, restart only the relevant network equipment, test at different times, and compare another device.

Example Result Explanation

✓ GoodA stable, repeatable result in the expected range. A clear and consistent experience is expected.
△ AttentionSome indicators should be checked again. Reduce background activity and repeat the test under the same conditions.
× ProblemA repeated clear failure or instability means the relevant setting, connection, or device needs closer review.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my speed lower than the plan I pay for?

The figure your provider advertises is the line speed to your home. What arrives at this page also passes through your Wi-Fi, your router, other devices using the connection and the distance to the test server. A wired connection with other devices idle gives the closest reading to your actual line speed.

Does this test measure my internet line or my Wi-Fi?

It measures the whole path, so over Wi-Fi it measures your Wi-Fi as well. If the wireless result disappoints you, run it again with an Ethernet cable: the difference between the two is your wireless loss, not your provider.

What download speed do I actually need?

Roughly 5 Mbps carries one high-definition video stream, 25 Mbps covers 4K, and video calls need a steady upload of a few Mbps more than they need raw download speed. Beyond that, stability and response time usually matter more than a larger number.
